SUBLIMATION
Using specialty inks printed on a special transfer, the image is then pressed onto your choice of substrate (material) at a specific temperature and time to create up to full color designs.
We can sublimation onto:
Metal plates
Photo plates
100% or high polyester garments
Specially coated items for sublimation
Types of Sublimation
GARMENTS
100% white and light colored polyester works best when sublimating onto clothing. Sublimation only dyes existing polyester fibers, but you can not sublimate to make fibers lighter.
Some people like using a 60/40 poly/cotton blend for that ‘vintage’ look as only some of the fibers are dyed.
HARD SUBSTRATES
Sublimation is very effective on items that are specifically setup for sublimation, such as: key chains, ceramic tiles, photo plates, puzzles, etc. Look for items that are ‘sublimatable’ and we can sublimate on those.
PHOTO/METAL PLATES
A popular gift is making photo plates. We use Chromaluxe plates with a high resolution coating to bring out the best colors. Yes, they are expensive, but the end product is well worth it.
